Merry Christmas!

I’ve been keeping busy. :)

Happy Christmas everyone!

Ex-mas

Christmas is fast approaching and I think I can begin to feel myself becoming properly homesick. I always knew it was going to happen, being this far away from home, friends and Sophie, but I never thought it would hit me as hard as it has recently. Maybe it’s this place – the isolation of it all, or perhaps just the general look of depression on everyone’s faces. Not to mention the fact that for the most part it feels like June.

I’ve been thinking a little more again about purchasing a car. I met a guy in a bar last night who gave me his number as he’s a little Hamaya for sale, so I might give him a look up. It sounded like a decent enough deal for what I’m after and would give me the chance to get away North for the holidays… Right now i’m figuring just being in a colder area might make me feel a little more in sync with the world i’m used to.

Ho hum. Thinking of you all back home.

Holiday reads

I’ve had plenty of time to myself since my arrival on Panau, and am heading to an even quieter period coming up over Christmas. Thankfully, I managed to pick up a few books at the airport on my way over so I’m settling into those.

Currently reading:

When You Are Engulfed In Flames – David Sedaris

The Culture of Control – David Garland

Treasure Island – Robert Louis Stevenson (Thanks Sophie!)

Finding anything else printed in English in this place is a near impossible task.

Robert.
